The most convenient and cheapest way to prove climate change – phenological data

News portals dedicated to biology and ecology quite often feature observations about the problems faced by various populations of migratory birds, insects, and so on, in recent years. Specifically, they arrive in their traditional region to mate and breed, only to find that due to climate change, the necessary links in the food chain have either already blossomed or have otherwise 'run out'. In other words, the issue central to this project is very much current, although I personally did not know that these processes were affecting our region too.

What you are talking about is phenological mismatch. We do not have such extensive data for the territory of Latvia to name specific species, yet such trends do exist. We have a very good database on plant flowering or leaf budding, but we lack data, for example, on the phenology of the insects you mentioned. However, from the overall context, we can conclude: yes, early bloomers are flowering ever earlier, and consequently, pollinators, such as bees, are emerging earlier.
