On 2 October, the traditional Apple Festival will take place in Dobele for the 11th time. The event will feature an entertaining cultural programme and sports activities for both adults and children, according to Madara Vinkelmane, cultural events manager at the Dobele City House of Culture.

Visitors to the festival will be able to take part in activities such as "Following Autumn's Footsteps" and the "Autumn Wheel of Fortune", and join in creating an autumnal environmental display. Guests are invited to bring along autumn produce grown in their own gardens (after the festival, all produce will be delivered to one of the animal farms in the Dobele region).
