Although OECD data show that in Latvia the labour tax burden on the average wage fell by slightly more than two percentage points in 2021 compared to 2019, Latvia still remains in the top three in Northern Europe for the weight of its labour taxes. Fortunately, in Estonia and Lithuania, this tax burden has increased slightly, narrowing the competitiveness gap in the Baltics; however, Latvia remains more than two percentage points ahead of its northern neighbour, and more than three percentage points ahead of its southern neighbour...
