Construction work is ongoing on the bridge over the Gauja near Strenči (regional road Smiltene–Strenči (P25) at the 28.34 km mark). The work is being carried out by SIA “8 CBR”, a company in the A.C.B. Group. During the construction, traffic is being diverted via a modular metal bridge that was built in September. The bridge, built in 1909, is made of monolithic reinforced concrete, while two of its spans, built in 1919, consist of steel beams and a wooden deck structure.
