The organisers of the 'Best Building in Latvia 2019' competition, in collaboration with PERI, are pleased to announce the winners in eight categories and the Grand Prix winner – the most outstanding building of 2019 – the cultural space Hanzas Perons. The project – the conversion of a warehouse into a building for mass entertainment events at Hanzas iela 16A in Riga – was submitted to the competition by the developer Pillar.
Normunds Grinbergs, head of the competition jury and president of the Latvian Builders Association, congratulates the participants: "The buildings entered in the competition clearly reflect the trends in the industry. This year we can conclude that every building submitted and assessed by the jury, regardless of its size, is significant in its location and use. Therefore, the owners, architects, designers, structural engineers, builders and occupants of every building submitted to the competition can be satisfied – the nominated objects are of exceptional importance and quality."
