The Baltic Wood Building Forum 2025 (Forum Wood Building Baltic, FWBB) is an international scientific conference that each Baltic state hosts once every three years. This year it is organised by the RTU Institute of Architecture and Design, the Institute of Civil Engineering of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, and the Science and Innovation Centre, in cooperation with the Latvian Wood Construction Cluster and the Forest and Wood Research Institute. It is supported by FORUM HOLZBAU.

The forum will be held in English. On the first day, leading experts from abroad and from Latvia will present the latest trends in European and Baltic wood construction, while the second day will be devoted to scientific achievements. Experts will also discuss strategy and policy for promoting wood architecture, education in sustainable construction, the use of timber structures, and their fire safety and service life.

Alongside the conference there will also be an exhibition of wood construction companies, presenting innovative timber building products.

The Baltic Wood Building Forum is being held for the sixth time, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between academia and industry and introducing construction sector professionals – including architects, engineers, contractors, property managers, developers, manufacturers and urban planners – to the latest international trends and developments in wood architecture, engineering and technology.

The event offers researchers, architects, engineers and other professionals in the sector the chance to present their work and projects, publish their results, discuss the latest achievements and challenges, exchange ideas and build international contacts for further scientific and professional cooperation – not only during the conference and the exhibition, but also at events and field seminars visiting innovative timber buildings and manufacturers of timber structures.
