With the start of the new academic year, a/s “Latvijas valsts meži” (LVM) has announced its annual Forestry Scholarship competition, to which students from various universities are invited to apply.

Since 2007, LVM has invited students to apply for the LVM Forestry Scholarship every autumn to educate and promote the professional development of young specialists in fields related to forest management.

Students from various universities enrolled in bachelor’s (from the 2nd year onwards) and master’s programmes who are studying or have an interest in one of the LVM scholarship areas are invited to apply for the LVM scholarship.

This year, the LVM Forestry Scholarship competition has been announced in the following areas:

1. forest ecology,
2. forest management,
3. environmental education,
4. use of forest biomass in the production of innovative products,
5. management of subsoil resources,
6. forest ecosystem services.
