...when founding Cewood, the decision was made to build a new factory in a rural region. Jaunlaicene was chosen as the factory's location partly due to the main raw material available on-site – wood – and partly due to its strategic position, being close to the main Pskov highway.

An equally important aspect was that there was a sufficient labour force available in this Vidzeme region, as well as an opportunity to promote the region's development – all the prerequisites for the company's future expansion opportunities were found.

Cewood now employs around 100 staff, and the company is one of the largest employers and taxpayers in the Alūksne municipality.
