The European Green Deal is generally highly commendable; the problem of environmental pollution is indeed becoming increasingly urgent, and on a global scale at that – this summer, we seem to have felt the resulting global warming, so to speak, on our own skin.
However, facts or trends occasionally emerge that give cause for concern as to whether the implementation of this course, as intended, is firstly feasible, and secondly, will bring more good than harm.
A critical approach is, of course, necessary to improve the move towards a better life, not to cancel it. A striking example is the rapid development of space tourism. We in Europe, in the name of green ideas, are preparing to abandon polluting transport, restrict farmers and producers in general, pay much more for heating, product deliveries, etc., while somewhere else in the world, tens of thousands of tonnes of fuel will be burned on pleasure trips without the slightest concern for the ozone layer or any other type of environmental damage!
