Such an emergency measure could help, first and foremost, businesses in the Far East, as this region lacks drying capacity.
To support forestry enterprises that have encountered difficulties due to sanctions, Russia may lift restrictive duties on the export of raw timber (with the exception of oak, beech and ash sawn timber). It has been proposed to keep the export duties at their previous level for roughly processed timber (with a width and thickness of 10 cm or more), reports PrimaMedia.
As is known, as of 1 January this year, Russia has imposed a virtually total ban on the export of raw coniferous and valuable hardwood timber.
