Responding to a call from SIA “Rīgas meži”, architecture students at Riga Technical University (RTU) are drawing up sustainable development proposals for the company's Mangaļsala area, which lies within the “Piejūra” nature park.
This cooperation between RTU and the municipal company will foster the development of the students' creative potential and strengthen their practical skills, while at the same time ensuring the sustainable development of the area in question, including the preservation of its natural assets and public access to it.
The sustainable development strategy of SIA “Rīgas meži” provides for developing cooperation with all stakeholders, including higher education institutions. This is an essential precondition for promoting public satisfaction and involvement, as well as understanding of the company's green infrastructure management practice, which is aimed not only at preserving environmental, historical and cultural assets, but also at enhancing public well-being.
