Ropaži will host the Whitsun Plant Parade for the first time

At the height of spring, Ropaži will for the first time become a meeting place for plant growers, craftspeople, small-scale producers and garden lovers from all over Latvia. The "Whitsun Plant Parade" is envisaged as a new tradition – a celebration bringing together in one place everything grown, created and cherished in Latvia, creating a真 spring atmosphere of togetherness for the whole family.

On 23 May 2026 from 9.00 to 16.00, the "Whitsun Plant Parade" will take place in Ropaži for the first time – a new garden and spring celebration organised by the Latvian Plant Growers Association in cooperation with Ropaži Municipality.

The event will bring together more than 100 plant growers, craftspeople, small-scale producers and traders from various regions of Latvia, offering visitors a wide range of plants, garden goods, crafts and local delicacies. The "Whitsun Plant Parade" is conceived as a family-friendly spring festival where visitors can not only buy quality plants and local produce, but also enjoy a cultural programme and a festive atmosphere in the historic centre of Ropaži.

As with other events organised by the Latvian Plant Growers Association, the main idea behind the "Whitsun Plant Parade" is to promote plants grown in Latvia and the produce of local producers. The organisers stress that this is a story about quality, sustainability and the work of local businesses, suited to Latvia's climatic conditions and the needs of our people.

Visitors will have the chance to buy summer flowers, perennials, ornamental plants, fruit trees, berry bushes, herbs and other plants directly from the growers. Craftspeople and small-scale producers will also take part, with food products, design items and various things for the home and garden made in Latvia.

The event will be complemented by a rich cultural programme. At 12.00, the Ropaži Municipality orchestras' end-of-season concert "Prelude to Summer" will take place by the Ropaži Culture Centre, while at 15.00 Ropaži Evangelical Lutheran Church will host an Inese Galante talent concert featuring sopranos Elizabete Laura Porgante and Brigita Reisone and tenor Renārs Austrums.

Applications from traders are open until 17 May. The organisers especially invite small-scale producers and craftspeople from Ropaži Municipality to apply, so that together they can create a diverse and beautiful Whitsun celebration in Ropaži.
