Participant registration has opened on the website velo.lv for the popular cycling race series – the “Latvijas valsts meži” MTB marathon. The first stage of the season, from Cēsis to Valmiera, will take place on 23 April.

After two years in which the start of the season for the most tradition-rich home-grown cycling series – the Latvijas valsts meži MTB marathon – was affected by the pandemic, this year the exciting series will begin on time. The new season includes seven stages, which will take place in Cēsis, Valmiera, Madliena in Ogre municipality, Sigulda, “Lācītes” in Gulbene municipality, Smiltene, Priekule, and Ropaži. Three stages (in Madliena, “Lācītes”, and Ropaži) have been included in the series programme for the first time, while the Smiltene stage returns after a three-year break.
