Polish bison also feeling the consequences of the Belarusian hybrid attack

(Commentary by zemeunvalsts.lv) As much as one might like to think otherwise, it seems that the representatives of the public broadcaster are trying to say: "The Belarusian leadership are absolute scoundrels, but we can think that at the table, in the basement, in the stairwell, yet at work we must support Alexander Lukashenko." The call to do nothing, allowing the neighbouring country's leadership to act as they please, is very strange, especially when recalling our shared past – that of Latvians and Belarusians.
Describing the migration of bison, Professor Rafał Kowalczyk from the Polish Academy of Sciences provided a map to the newspaper "Wyborcza". The white dots on it do not represent individual bison, but locations where the presence of bison was recorded between 2005 and 2012. The map is old, but in the researcher's view, not much has changed in bison behaviour. Only now there are fences on both sides of the red and blue lines, between which there are "pockets" or enclaves, and once they enter, the bison may be unable to reach their usual winter feeding grounds.
