During the lamprey protection period, poachers were spotted once again. Following their detention and the arrival of officers from the Klaipėda Environmental Protection Inspectorate, it emerged that the individuals caught had set up three prohibited fishing devices containing more than 40 individual lamprey traps.
It is a pity, but such people will continue to fish as long as the fines for these offences remain too low...
