Party manifestos must include tasks that ensure an increase in exports and productivity, according to recommendations for political parties' economic programmes developed by the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LTRK) together with the Employers' Confederation of Latvia (LDDK) in order to achieve the strategic goal by 2026 – exports accounting for 70% of gross domestic product (GDP) and productivity growth ensuring a 4% annual increase in GDP per employee.
On Wednesday, the LTRK and LDDK presented recommendations for the parties' economic programmes so that the next government can create the prerequisites for Latvia to become an attraction and growth platform for knowledgeable people who crave growth opportunities, as well as for exporting and productive companies, thereby achieving the aforementioned strategic goal.
