...forestry service cooperatives are seeing the most rapid growth in membership numbers – from 536 members in 2018 to 760 last year. Forest owners are joining cooperatives, following the Northern European model, where cooperation has been the main method of private forest management for decades. In Sweden and Norway, one in three forest owners sells timber and purchases forestry services through cooperative societies. In Estonia, too, the number of forest owners involved in cooperatives and associations already exceeds ten thousand.
