Unfortunately, there is never a shortage of humanitarian crises in the world. 2021 was, of course, no exception. According to UN data analysed by Statista, more than 24 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance and protection in Yemen in the current situation. Ethiopia saw the largest increase compared to 2020, at 166%, which corresponds to more than 21 million people in need of assistance, primarily due to fighting between government forces and rebels in the Tigray region.
