Bird box working bees

The “Rīgas meži” environmental education programme “EkVidO2”, or “ECOLOGY. ENVIRONMENT. AIR”, begins its seasonal Spring bird box working bee marathon on Sunday, 3 March. During these events, existing birdhouses will be cleaned and repaired, and new ones will be constructed. This year, participants will include representatives from local residents' associations, children with special needs, and young volunteers from children's homes.
Spring bird box events are both educational and practical. The boxes prepared by participants will be installed for small cavity-nesting birds in various locations across Riga and its surrounding areas.
Photo competition “My Bird 2024”

The Latvian Museum of Natural History has announced the “My Bird 2024” photography competition and invites children, young people, adults and seniors who have a passion for capturing moments of wild bird life in Latvia to take part. The best entries will be featured in a photo exhibition starting from 12 April.
Photographs and applications marked “For the My Bird 2024 photo competition” must be submitted by 20 March 2024 (at 23.59 Latvian time).
