You can now travel from Riga to Pskov along ecologically green paths on foot, on horseback, or by bicycle. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the path is currently only open as far as the Latvian-Russian border. About the project

The total length of the “Green Route” Riga-Pskov is 450 kilometres.

Project implementation period: 1 September 2019 – 30 April 2022.

The total budget of the project is 796,036 euros.

90% of the funding (713,732.40 euros) comes from the Latvia-Russia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020.

The remaining 10% (79,303.60 euros) is co-financing from project partners.
The project partners are the Administration of Pskov Oblast, the Tourism Committee of Pskov Oblast, the Vidzeme Tourism Association, as well as Latvian and Russian municipalities through whose territories this route passes.
The Latvia-Russia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 is implemented with the financial participation of the European Union, the Republic of Latvia, and the Russian Federation.

The total budget of the programme is 27,082,276 euros, including 15,875,028 euros in funding from the European Union, 7,937,514 euros from the Russian Federation, and 999,540 euros in co-financing from the Republic of Latvia.
