In Finland, there are no official forestry restrictions during the bird nesting period. Some restrictions are included in forest certification rules; in addition to these, the Finnish research and development company Metsäteho has developed recommendations on how to assess the situation in the forest regarding birds during logging operations.

Finnish forestry companies have their own guidelines on this matter.

As the Finns acknowledge - there will undoubtedly be losses - according to rough estimates - 1/1000 of the total number of nests.
