The requirement for media to balance every opinion with an opposing one turns discussions into a show.

In my view, the media and journalists are entitled to express their own opinions; there is no need to pretend to be "neutral". Anyone searching for or consuming information always has the option to choose what they read, listen to, or watch for themselves. In this context, perhaps the only requirement is not to distort the information. If I do not consider it productive to invite a climate change denier to a discussion, that is my right; I do not, however, have the right to attribute things to that person (or opinion) that they have not said or done. Nothing complicated about that.
