The retreat of melting glaciers in Norway has revealed a lost mountain pass. This discovery has "come" alongside several hundred Viking-era artefacts.

Researchers discovered the pass in 2011, continued to study it, and the artefacts were found as the ice continued to melt. By determining the age of the objects found, it became clear when the discovered pass had been used.

The study was published in the journal "Antiquity".
