LVMI "Silava" invites landowners to take part in a survey on wetland restoration

The Latvian State Forest Research Institute "Silava" invites owners of forest and agricultural land to take part in the international research project Wetland restoration for the future (ALFAwetlands) by giving their views on the prospects for wetland restoration in Latvia.

The aim of the survey is to gather landowners' views on the acceptability of various wetland restoration methods and the scope for putting them into practice in six European countries, including Latvia.

Your answers will help to:

  • gain a better understanding of how landowners view wetland restoration,
  • assess how well different restoration solutions work in practice,
  • shape a balanced wetland restoration policy that is acceptable to landowners.
  • The survey results will be compiled and analysed only in summary form (as average figures).

It will not be possible to link answers to individual respondents. The data obtained will be used solely for research purposes, and personal data will be processed confidentially under a strict privacy policy. It will be available only to the Project's researchers.

By completing the survey, you will make a valuable contribution to developing a wetland restoration policy that is sustainable and reflects landowners' interests. If you have already completed the survey after receiving it from another sender or channel, please do not complete it again.

The ALFAwetlands research project is led by the Natural Resources Institute Finland (LUKE) in cooperation with partners in several European countries. Further information about the research and the confidentiality policy is available on the ALFAwetlands website.

We would be grateful for your involvement in establishing the views of landowners. Your opinion matters!
