On 4 and 5 May, at Siguldas Svētku laukums, the largest and most colourful spring gardening event – the Latvijas Stādu parāde – will celebrate its twentieth birthday alongside the national holiday.
Only growers from Latvia will take part in the event, promoting and showcasing the national plant-growing sector and honouring those who work in it. As usual, this year's Latvijas Stādu parāde will bring together around 300 participants, among them plant growers from every region of the country, forming the country's largest national plant fair. Latvian craftspeople and local food producers will also be there with beautiful and delicious surprises, along with representatives of garden goods and machinery manufacturers.
On 5 May at 11.00, the Latvijas Stādu parāde will be greeted by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Latvia, Armands Krauze, who will pay tribute to the participants of the Latvijas Stādu parāde and open the charity auction of rare plants, and by the Chairman of Sigulda Municipality Council, Linards Kumskis, who will present a symbolic gift to mark the municipality's cooperation with the event's organisers.
On both days, the anniversary Stādu parāde will be enlivened by a bog trail created in cooperation with the Latvian National Peat Association, featuring informative stories about how peat is formed, used and put to after-use, as well as games and activities for the youngest and oldest visitors to the Stādu parāde, in cooperation with Rīga Zoo.
Visitors will have the chance to take part in the virtual survey “Latvijas dārznieka profils”, to look back at photographs from twenty years of the Latvijas Stādu parāde, and to vote for the nursery that will receive this year's grand prize – a beautiful painting created during last year's Latvijas Stādu parāde by artist Kristīne Kutepova, a graduate of the bachelor's and master's painting study programmes at the Visual Art Department of the Art Academy of Latvia
We remind you that entry to the event and parking are free, and that our helpers will be on hand to carry plants to the plant cloakroom and from there to visitors' cars. To find the venue, we recommend using the navigation app “Waze”.
The 20th Latvijas Stādu parāde is organised by the foundation “Stādu un kūdras inovāciju fonds” in cooperation with the Plant Growers' Association and Sigulda Municipality.
The 20th Latvijas Stādu parāde will offer:

• A plant auction
• A plant cloakroom in cooperation with the Līgatne adventure park “Zeit”
• A fair of craftspeople and home producers, garden goods and machinery
• Display stands created by plant growers
• Kalsnava Arboretum will delight children and adults with a variety of entertaining and educational games
• In Sigulda, visitors will be able to enjoy a ride down the toboggan run, a trip on the cable car, rides in little cars for the youngest visitors, and the observation wheel (paid activities)
• ENTRY and PARKING at the event are FREE for the whole family
