In order to develop new production of synthetic resins based on lignin, a natural wood component, and thereby reduce the proportion of fossil raw materials in the phenol formaldehyde resins currently used widely in the manufacture of furniture, floor coverings, thermal insulation, sandpaper and many other everyday products, the “Latvijas Finieris” group has begun construction of a new factory in Bolderāja, Riga.
