The peat extraction and peat product manufacturing company "Laflora" plans to build a peat processing factory in the Nīcgale bog, Daugavpils district, for approximately five million euros, the company informed the LETA agency.

"Laflora" has been managing the Nīcgale bog peat extraction site in the Nīcgale parish of Daugavpils district for over 20 years, but in 2017 the peat extraction area was expanded, reaching 308 hectares. Consequently, over the next 2-3 years, the volume of peat extraction at the Nīcgale bog site will double to approximately 200,000 cubic metres of peat per year.
