Uldis Ameriks, head of the peat extraction and processing company "Laflora", has received the Employers' Confederation of Latvia Annual Award in the category "Economist of the Year 2025".
On 13 November 2025, the annual Award ceremony of the Employers' Confederation of Latvia (LDDK) took place in the New Hall of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet.
Across ten different categories, awards were presented to employers who invest in sustainability, in their employees and in a high-quality working environment, and who also drive the growth of the Latvian economy, improve the image of business and foster constructive dialogue with the government. The LDDK Annual Award was presented for the first time in 2014.
We are grateful for this high recognition and congratulate the recipients of the LDDK Annual Award in the other categories - "Latvijas Finieris", "Omniva", "Jensen Metal", "Balticovo", "SCHWENK Latvija", "Bauskas slimnica", "Latvijas Mobilais Telefons" and the Finance Latvia Association.
Any LDDK member could nominate candidates for the LDDK Annual Award categories, while the winners were assessed and determined with the help of cooperation partners - the Free Trade Union Confederation of Latvia, the State Revenue Service, the State Labour Inspectorate and SIA "Lursoft IT".
