Yesterday, at an extraordinary Cabinet of Ministers meeting, the government decided on additional precautionary measures to curb the Covid-19 pandemic. Health Minister Ilze Viņķele already said last weekend that the Ministry of Health would propose limiting outdoor gatherings to a maximum of two people or members of the same household. “When heading out into nature at the weekend, which doctors and epidemiologists still warmly recommend, please choose places where people do not gather. If we keep our distance in shops, then let's not transfer the crowding to the Cenu tīrelis trail. Latvia is large enough for us, and it is possible to enjoy nature without crowds,” Viņķele urged at a press conference on Thursday.
