At the end of October, AS "Latvijas valsts meži" and the company trade union “LVM Cilvēkam un Mežam” signed the first collective agreement in the company's history. The collective agreement was submitted to a general meeting of employees for approval, and 969 employees, or almost 70% of the entire workforce, took part in the vote. 965 employees voted in favour of the collective agreement and 4 voted against it. In light of the results, the collective agreement was approved and is now in force.
Following the approval of the collective agreement, on 12 November the company trade union “LVM Cilvēkam un Mežam” met with the Minister of Agriculture, Armands Krauze. During the meeting, the company trade union reported on the collective agreement concluded with AS “Latvijas valsts meži”, discussed the union's future plans and agreed on opportunities for cooperation.
At the same time, in order to foster mutual cooperation and unified representation of the interests of AS “Latvijas valsts meži” employees, the company trade union “LVM Cilvēkam un Mežam” has proposed that “LVM darbinieku neatkarīgā arodorganizācija”, an autonomous unit of the Latvian Forest Sector Trade Union, conclude a memorandum on future cooperation.
The trade union “LVM Cilvēkam un Mežam” was founded by employees of AS “Latvijas valsts meži” and was registered with the Register of Enterprises on 22 August 2025. The company trade union represents the interests of all AS “Latvijas valsts meži” employees.
