According to Rural Support Service data on the management of biologically valuable grasslands, over the past five years the foundation has received a total of 523 800 euros in support payments.

Animals dying in agony inside the fenced area of Ķemeri National Park is a wholly unacceptable situation. That was the response of both the Minister for Environmental Protection and Regional Development and the Minister of Agriculture to the report on the programme De facto. The Minister of Agriculture points out that the association which has taken on the keeping of such animals must comply with all animal welfare requirements and bear full responsibility.

“In accordance with the legislation, we will consider reducing the area payment,” Minister of Agriculture Armands Krauze told the LTV news service, adding only that the DAP should also examine the possibility of terminating the land lease agreement and suspending cooperation with an association that is unable to care for the animals.
