Is there a conflict being fostered between farmers in Latvia?

Theoretically, everything is possible, including a 100% transition to organic farming; however, primarily, organic farming—like any other production method—should develop not because of the personal ambitions of politicians, but due to market demand.

If the market demands product X and this product is in greater demand than is available, the price rises, and the sector begins to increase production of this product. Currently, there is great uncertainty throughout the EU regarding the size of the organic market. The organic sector is unequivocally growing, and the percentage increase is large, even 100% per year; nevertheless, in absolute numbers, demand remains small.

I would very much like to avoid finding ourselves in the situation of Sweden, for instance, where approximately 20% of the land is already organically certified, yet even politicians are cautious about increasing this amount, knowing that there are serious problems with finding sales markets. Therefore, the sector will primarily develop when society votes not with its emotions, but with its wallet.
