Rapeseed is a crop that grows perfectly in Latvian conditions; it is economically viable and highly beneficial in crop rotation as a soil improver for arable farms. It is precisely rapeseed and legumes that are the crops grown between cereals to ensure good harvests without the need to use excessive plant protection products, which are a rather expensive measure. Furthermore, rapeseed and peas must not be grown for several years in succession, as we risk the accumulation of pathogens in the soil, which could significantly reduce our future yields.
