Haralds Barviks, Chairman of the Board of the Latvian Hunters Association, explained when commenting on the incident that hunters had previously predicted that something like this could happen. Fortunately, the person was only injured and the outcome was not fatal. In the event of a bear attack, injuries are usually very severe and often deadly.
“This could just be the beginning. The responsible authorities must definitely think about what to do so that the situation does not repeat itself,” said Haralds Barviks.
