Take care in Scotland's forests

The authorities responsible for Scotland's forests and countryside are urging visitors to the Corlarach woods to take care. In these forests, larch trees have been seriously affected by Phytophora ramorum.

Active measures are underway to control the disease and damage in the aforementioned forests. As sector representatives report, the mentioned disease has been affecting larch trees in Scotland for several years. It is quite difficult to contain or stop; its spread can only be reduced or slowed by felling infected trees and assessing or felling those in the surrounding area.

The Corlarach woods in question are one of 12 locations in Scotland where the presence of Phytophora ramorum has been officially confirmed.
