Last year, the total area of damage in young forest stands was recorded at 6,596 hectares. Of the damage recorded in young stands this year, more than a third, or 260 hectares, shows a damage intensity of 40% or higher. “Every year we identify damage caused by cervids in regenerated forest areas, or young stands. If the damage is significant, we must plan supplementary planting in the affected area to ensure the appropriate number of target species trees, which in turn leads to additional costs in the forest cultivation process.
