The governing parties in Estonia (Centre and Reform) have agreed to halt investments in new fossil fuel projects and to reduce timber harvesting in state-owned forests.

As Reform Party chair Kaja Kallas stated during the discussions, the government plans to consolidate the forest development plan while simultaneously reducing logging volumes, though the details of such a plan remain unspecified. The Estonian government's coalition plans include developing the idea of a pulp mill in the country, thereby increasing the value of local timber.
