Overnight from 25 to 26 January (2021), the Danish government agreed on an eleven-digit figure: substantial compensation for mink farm owners. The total financial support (compensation) is estimated at around 18.8 billion Danish kroner (approximately €1.6 billion), which will be provided to mink breeders and those employed in industries related to mink farming who were directly affected by the Danish government's decision last November to shut down the sector. The decision, as is known, was made following a scientific explanation that coronavirus mutations were possible on fur farms.
