Within the space of a month, three people have been gored by bison in Yellowstone National Park, with the last two attacks occurring just two days apart. Park officials have warned visitors to respect the animals' personal space, as getting too close can provoke an attack.

The latest incident occurred on 29 June involving a 71-year-old woman from Pennsylvania. According to a National Park Service (NPS) report, her injuries are not life-threatening, although she was taken to hospital. Just two days earlier, on 27 June, another bison attacked a 34-year-old man from Colorado who was out walking with his family. The man sustained hand injuries and was taken to hospital, the NPS statement said.

The first incident took place on 31 May, when a 25-year-old woman from Ohio was attacked; according to an NPS statement, she was injured and tossed 10 feet (3 metres) into the air, sustaining a serious puncture wound and other minor injuries. (...)
