My first forest was an area of reforested agricultural land that I bought at auction – just under two hectares. I hadn't even been there, as I couldn't find it on the map. I bought it first, and only then did my sister and I go to look for it. Three years later, I bought more, because a neighbour had decided to sell their forest.

I realised that forests are what I need, and now I am holding onto this with everything I've got. I also realised that I needed to start learning. In winter, there was a course on young stand tending. I finished it. I thought, if I like it, I'll go on to study further. I liked it. So, in the autumn, I enrolled in the Faculty of Forestry.
