The company offers the opportunity to use a special calculator online or via a mobile app to calculate the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions generated by an individual and to offset them by paying for the planting of a corresponding number of trees.

Approximately 500,000 euros have been invested over five years into the development of the service, which was spent on creating the website, the mobile app, and the calculator mechanism. Upon establishing the company, more than 300 hectares of land suitable for forestry were also purchased, where new stands will be established in the future.

Māris Simanovičs, founder of “Not Hot Environmental Solutions”, pointed out that there is widespread discussion globally regarding global warming and the increasing concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere. CO2 emissions are generated by industry, transport, and, in particular, electricity consumption. Conversely, planting trees is one of the cheapest and most effective ways to avoid the accumulation of CO2 emissions in the atmosphere.
