No more asphalt near trees

...it was high time!

The leadership of the Dutch city of Arnhem has prepared a plan for the coming decade on how to return to a greener urban landscape, thereby resisting heatwaves and potential flooding. As flooding, heat and drought have a major impact on the city and its residents' lives, the city management has decided to reduce the amount of asphalt in the city by 10% by 2030. The asphalt roads and paths chosen by the city council will be replaced by grass and trees, thus cooling the city.
