Work has commenced on the development of the minimum scope design project and the EIA for the reconstruction of the Riga bypass (A4) (Baltezers–Saulkalne) into a high-speed road. It is planned that reconstruction of the bypass will begin in 2025.
Development of the minimum scope design project and the EIA for the reconstruction of the Riga bypass (A5) (Salaspils–Babīte) section from the Ķekava bypass (11.6 km) to the 38.2 km mark into a high-speed road is also underway. Construction work there is scheduled to start in 2026.
Work is ongoing on the design project for the joint Rail Baltica railway and road bridge (the section connecting A4 and A5), which is being organised by AS RB Rail in cooperation with LVC. Bridge construction works are planned between 2023 and 2027.
A procurement process is currently underway for the development of the minimum scope design project and the EIA for the new section of the Riga bypass (A5) (Salaspils–Babīte) between the P85/New Daugava bridge junction and the Ķekava bypass. Construction of the section is planned to start in 2028.
Work has also begun on a feasibility study and an environmental impact assessment for the potential construction of the Vangaži–Skulte section of the prospective E67 road route. Initial public consultation on the EIA is planned for the beginning of 2022. If this is found to be a suitable solution, construction of the section is planned for after 2030.
