W. Kurz is one of the most prominent forestry scientists in the world, and he and his colleagues have signed a petition supporting the use of forests in mitigating climate change. This is highly significant, as a large number of the world's countries are considering including forests in their climate policy plans. These goals are further stimulated by the Paris Agreement, which aims to achieve a balance between CO2 emissions and absorption in the second half of this century.
