The Forest Owners Association of Latvia (LMĪB) is urging a search for solutions regarding management opportunities in protected nature areas, the association informed.

The association is currently implementing a project co-financed by the Latvian Environmental Protection Fund entitled “Educating forest owners and involving them in decision-making regarding forest management in protected nature areas”. The relevance of the project is based on a series of conflict situations arising between forest owners and state institutions concerning forest management in protected nature areas. The task of the project was to identify the causes of these conflicts through constructive dialogue.
