According to calculations by the International Trade Centre, Latvia was in first place globally for the volume of peat exported in 2020. In 2020, Latvia exported 1.97 million tonnes of peat, Germany exported 1.50 million tonnes, and Canada exported 1.42 million tonnes of peat. In 2020, Estonia exported 1.32 million tonnes, the Netherlands 1.24 million tonnes, and Ireland 0.93 million tonnes of peat.

Latvian euro-fund parasites (devourers of European funds) are interested in the European Green Deal investment plan to offer 450 million euros in exchange for ceasing peat extraction. Embezzling 450 million euros of European funds to kill off an industry that provides 3,000 jobs in many Latvian regions outside Riga – such actions must be viewed as economic sabotage against the state. Moreover, this economic sabotage is being covered up with loud slogans about nature, climate change and carbon dioxide.
