Fleeing Russia and its journalists in Latvia

Returning to the messages from Yekaterina Kotrikadze and “TV Rain” (TV Doždj) that Latvia and the other Baltic states should admit all (or the majority of) those wishing to leave Russia, I would like to express that her message falls more within the framework of left-liberalism and less within imperialism. I judge this having listened for several years to Kotrikadze’s messages on the RTVi channel (formerly) and now on “TV Rain”. For several years, Kotrikadze has criticised Putin's policy like few other Russian journalists. I respect her for that. But it is not as if liberalism in the Russian style is never or in no way compatible with imperialism. Many years ago, the Russian politician Anatoly Chubais stated that Russia could be a “liberal empire”. A few months ago, he was photographed in Turkey, withdrawing money from an ATM... Nothing changes much for us because, regardless of whether the motivation is radical liberalism or imperialism, this time the message of Russia’s democratic journalists and Putinists coincides – let the Russians do as they please in your country!
