In 2019, representatives from the UN Development Programme were working in local communities inhabiting Uganda's wetlands, whose living conditions are directly dependent on agriculture. As had been expected, the researchers heard stories about the weather conditions affected by climate change, and about the decline in harvests and livestock. The researchers were surprised by an unexpected discovery - how climate change has influenced an increase in violence against women.
