In February this year, the ATD launched a rail transport market study with the aim of determining the interest of carriers providing passenger rail transport services in operating in the Latvian rail transport market, in accordance with the prerequisites for service provision set out in Latvia.

The rail transport market study covered the entire domestic passenger transport segment: regarding the interest in providing public transport services on both electrified and non-electrified rail lines, including lines where services are planned to be provided by battery trains.
