Tree felling volumes in December

The State Forest Service, in its administration of timber resource harvesting in forests, issued permits for economic activity in 15,280 felling areas in December 2022.

The total area of the felling sites amounts to 18,145 hectares, while the net volume of timber to be harvested as planned by forest owners was indicated at 2,020,453 m³. This includes 476 felling areas approved following a sanitary assessment by the State Forest Service, with a total area of 414 hectares and a standing volume to be harvested of 84,211 m³.

Meanwhile, in December, the State Forest Service approved clear-felling based on tree diameter in 2,101 felling areas, with a total area of 1,677 hectares and a volume of 428,988 m³.

In 2022, the State Forest Service issued permits for economic activity in 130,972 felling areas, with a total area of 185,188 hectares and a net volume of 18,945,294 m3. This includes 4,265 felling areas following a sanitary assessment by the service, with a total area of 3,345 hectares and a volume of 662,887 m³.

Furthermore, since the beginning of the year, permits for clear-felling based on tree diameter have been issued for 11,702 felling areas with a total area of 9,521 hectares and a volume of 2,383,907 m³.
